The El Paso Muscular Dystrophy Association held its annual stride and ride at Sunland Park Mall today. Several hundred people showed up to walk, collecting $23,000 for the fight against neuromuscular disease. Organizers say $80 pays for one minute of reswearch. From firefighters to UTEP students, people from all walks walked the walk for MDA.... "The support is great we felt very good being here.. it's a very good feeling to be here." "It's a good feeling. It's nice to walk because it benefits yourself but it's also nice to walk for somebody else. I like doing community service. stuff like this." The MDA also raised nearly $6,500 at its bowl-a-thon put on by UTEP students today.
