  • Retired Captain Joe Holguin Jr

    JOE S. HOLGUIN JR.

    JOE S. HOLGUIN JR., born on October 27, 1939, passed away on December 4, 2009 . He graduated from Fabens High School where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track. Joe attended Texas Western College (UTEP) where he played two years of junior varsity basketball. He also played baseball for the Fabens Merchants. Joe joined the El Paso Fire Department and retired as a Captain. He played baseball, softball, and basketball for the El Paso Fire Department. Joe loved all sports and UTEP Miner athletics. He was preceded in death by his father Jose Santos Holguin and by his brother Rolando A. Holguin. Joe is survived by former spouse Irma Gladys Holguin; son Joseph R. (Veronica) Holguin; daughter Diana R. (Ryan) Trudgen and 7 grandchildren Cassandra, Graham, Bianca, Ashleigh, Tyler Kinsley, Joseph S., Ryan and Bryanna Holguin; great granddaughter Alexandria Graham. He is survived by his mother Irene Holguin; brother Robert I. (Esperanza); sister Irene (Willie) Perez and Carmen Fuentes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Del Sol ICU. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Crestview Funeral Home. Vigil service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Crestview Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (Fabens). Rite of Committal will follow at Fabens Cemetery. Services under the direction of CRESTVIEW FUNERAL HOME. 1462 N. Zaragosa 856-1400
