  • Retired Superintendent of Maintenance Norman Hutchins

    Norman Hutchins

     
    Norman Joseph Hutchins passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2010 in Provo, UT. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Norman was born on July 15, 1936 to Blaza Rodriquez and Howard O. Hutchins in Las Vegas, NV. He graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso, TX in 1954. He married Herlinda Bonilla on May 11, 1957. Norman served in the U.S. Army in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. He returned to El Paso where he joined the El Paso Fire Dept., where he retired with the rank of Chief. He and Herlinda settled in Fairview, UT in 1992. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a gifted mechanic and an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Lorenzo Hutchins and his half-brother Donald Hutchins. He is survived by his loving wife Herlinda, and their five children: Diana Jo Lott (Virgil), Escondido, CA; Norman Lance Hutchins (Ronda) , Mesa, AZ; Melody Hope Sanchez (German), El Paso, TX; Brenda Lynn Wall (Steven), Salt Lake City, UT; and Paul Osbourne Hutchins (Crystal), Lake Port, CA; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are his brothers Robert Hutchins (Cheryl) and John Hutchins and his sister Jacqueline Spilsbury (Max); and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Hutchins, John Hutchins, Max Spilsbury, Virgil Lott, Norman Hutchins, German Sanchez, Steven Wall and Paul Hutchins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11th from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West. The Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12th at 9:30 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Saints, 1212 Sumac. Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912.
