  • Retired FST Ruben Munoz

    Forever In Our Hearts It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Ruben Muñoz Sr., 58, of El Paso on August 24, 2012. He was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School class of 1972. In 1977 he became a firefighter with the El Paso Fire Department and retired after 22 years of service in 1999. Ruben was a member of Jefferson Alumni, EPISD Bond Committee, and the Western Refinery Citizen Advisory Board. He also spent countless hours volunteering at Jeffeson High School. Preceding in death are his parents Andres and Rosa Muñoz, brother Juan Muñoz, and sister Magdalena Muñoz. Those left to mourn his passing include his wife of 35 years, Sara Muñoz, his daughters Sarah A. Muñoz (Eric Puga) and Ruby A. Muñoz, his son Ruben Muñoz Jr., and granddaughter Sarah Renee Muñoz. Surviving brothers include Andres Muñoz Jr. and Ramon Muñoz, sisters Rebecca Muñoz and Beatrice Torres, nieces and nephews. Services are as follows: Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 2nd at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive from 5:00 -9:00 P.M. with rosary at 7:00 P.M. Mass will be held on Monday, Sept. 3rd at Our Lady of the Light, 4700 Delta Drive at 10:00 A.M. We would like to thank all of our family and friends for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
